After graduating from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Geography and Urban Planning Francis moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography and film. He immediately started working for commercial director/cameraman Danny Ducovny and quickly worked his way up to Second Camera Assistant where together they won several pitches to national advertisers such as Chevy, IBM and Wrigley's Gum. Award winning commercial director Sean Thonson (MJZ) soon handpicked Francis to become his permanent Locations Photographer and the two have worked closely together for nearly a decade completing major jobs for every company in the U.S. Francis is as well head Locations Photographer for legendary photographer/director Tim Damon. In 2003, Francis was the Second Unit Director on the feature film "Americano" starring Dennis Hopper and Joshua Jackson. He has also shot Second Unit for commercials such as Toyota, Mazda, Yamaha, Lincoln, Dunlop, and Dow Chemical. Francis has received numerous awards for his outstanding photography including a NATAS EMMY in 2007 for Lockheed Martin.
In 2010, Francis joined the commercial production company Square Planet.
